The UN Security Council is meeting informally for the first time with senior leaders of Syrian Opposition Coalition.
Coalition President Ahmed Al Jarba told US Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday that the opposition needs weapons to prevent a Syrian military victory and urgent American action "to push the international community to demand a political transition.''
