PARIS (AP) --
Secretary of State John Kerry says the Obama administration is
distributing videos showing a chemical weapons attack in Syria to help
convince Americans and Congress that a military intervention against the
Syrian government is needed.
Kerry said
Sunday in Paris that the videos make clear that the attack is not
something Americans can ignore. He says it's important for the American
people to see and "connect" to this.
Kerry is in Europe making the case for military intervention in Syria and also discussing Middle East peace negotiations.
The
United States accused Syrian President Bashar Assad's government of
using chemical weapons in an Aug. 21 assault that killed more than 1,400
people. U.S. officials have released videos showing victims, including
children, exhibiting what appear to be symptoms of nerve gas poisoning.
